The Grave, by Robert Blair. Illustrated by William Blake.
The original leather tightback binding had losses on the spine, and both boards were loose, attached only by the laced in cords. Some pages had become detached, and the endpapers were split along the spine.
The binding was rebacked with kozo tissue toned with acrylic paint to match the original leather. Blotter paper toned with acrylic paint was used to fill the losses in the spine, then covered with a piece of toned kozo to blend it in.
The loose pages were tipped back in with PVA. An inner hinge of kozo was used to reinforce the endpapers, coloured with Golden Acrylic paint to match the marbled endpapers.
